Former U.S. Secretary of Commerce and entrepreneur Penny Pritzker has been a longtime leader in the area of skilled workforce training and helping create better pathways so more Americans can adapt, adjust, and thrive given the seismic forces of technology and globalization that are changing the very nature of work. From creating the first-ever skilled workforce training initiative at the Department of Commerce to founding Skills for America’s Future to her current effort leading a bi-partisan task force for the Council of Foreign Relations on this important issue, Penny Pritzker is deeply passionate about helping all American workers and businesses better equip themselves to succeed in the 21st Century economy.From June 2013 through January 2017, she served as U.S. Secretary of Commerce in the Obama Administration. Penny Pritzker was a core member of President Obama’s economic team and served as the country’s chief commercial advocate, leading the Administration’s trade and investment promotion efforts. She also served on President Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness and his Economic Recovery Advisory Board.

She joined Richard Sarnoff, Chairman of Media, Entertainment and Education Investing, KKR at the 2018 ASU+GSV Summit to share her perspectives on workforce and education transformation.
